CHALLENGES - TYPES, POINTS & RULES

Facie: by far our most popular challenge, with the Facie you don’t have to learn anything new, or do anything differently on Facebook to get points. Post anything you like, and get 10 points for each of your friends who like, comment, or share it for the next 24 hours. Note It takes another 24 hours for plyfe’s systems to find these reactions and award points. We don’t want you to change who you are, or what you do, we think you’re great just the way you are. And that’s the true definition of swag. We just want to give you something for it.
Watchie: you guessed it, just watch YouTube videos. We give you 100 points for every minute of the video, but you have to watch it all the way to the end to get the points. Points are awarded immediately.
Referrie: the big bertha of challenges, we give you a massive 1,000 points for every person you get to sign up for plyfe. But make sure you send your friends your personal referral link (which is also the link to your personal profile): http://plyfe.me/username where “username” is the one you selected when you first signed up. Click on “Profile” to find it if you’ve forgotten. Points are awarded once your friend reserves a plyfe username.
Quickie: answer a yes/no or multiple choice question for 10 points. Points are awarded immediately.
Likie: like a page on facebook for 100 points. It may take up to 24 hours for our system to find your like and award points.
Postie: post a message on facebook for 100 points. It may take up to 24 hours for our system to find your message and award points.
Tweetie: tweet a message on twitter for 100 points. It may take up to 24 hours for our system to find your message and award points.
Placie: check into a place on facebook or foursquare for 100 points. It may take up to 24 hours for our system to find your message and award points.
Connectie: connect plyfe to one of your social networks (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare for 100 points. Points are awarded once you authorize the plyfe app to connect to your social network.

Rules

Don’t “game” our games. If we catch you cheating (i.e., setting up multiple accounts under different aliases to get more chances to win), you will be disqualified from all games. Besides, once our Store opens, you’ll want to keep all your points in one bank anyways.
Raffles are a way for anyone to win, even if you don’t play that much. 1,000 points can be redeemed for 1 raffle ticket. The more points you earn in each game, the higher your chances of winning the grand prize. At the end of each game, we put all the raffle tickets into a digital basket and draw one out at random to select the winner.
Strategery, it’s how you can get points from more than one challenge at the same time. But we can’t tell you how, that’s for you to figure out.
Hashtag #swag or #plyfe in your various social activities for some super secret bonus points.

CONCEPT OF PLYFE

We give you points for your social media activity
You can redeem those points for stuff

“Stuff” includes: iPads, trips to Vegas, high heels…if you’re into that sort of thing.

We don’t have our store built yet, so for now it’s just a raffle to win the prizes. But the coolest part about what we’ve built we call the Facie:

Post anything you want on facebook
Every person who comments or likes it gives you points

So basically you never have to come to http://plyfe.me, you just get points for doing what you already do. And we’re going to extend that to every social network: pinterest, instagram, youtube, twitter, nike+ fuelband.

What is plyfe?

We spend a lot of time online watching YouTube videos and goofing off on Facebook, but we never got anything in return for it. So we thought we’d turn it into a game, work with some of your favorite brands, and give you something for all that time.

What are plyfe’s games and how do I play them?

Our games aren’t like the traditional games (e.g., tetris) you’re used to playing. Our games are centered around your social media activity. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare, and coming soon: Instagram, Pinterest, Nike+ FuelBand. You get points for doing what you normally do on each of these networks (namely, interacting with your friends).

What are challenges and how do they relate to games?

Challenges live entirely within games. Each game has multiple challenges, each of which describe the activity you need to perform to get more points. Some examples of challenges are:

Post any status update on Facebook (pictures, words, videos) and get points for every friend who likes or comments on it. Snazzy, eh?
Watch a YouTube video
Check in at a location on Facebook or Foursquare
Like a page on Facebook
Tweet a link with any message you like

How do I get points and what can I use them for?

Think of points like money. You earn them by completing challenges (i.e., updating your status on Facebook) and you can spend them by redeeming points for raffle tickets (1,000 points = 1 raffle ticket).

These raffle tickets enter you into a drawing to win amazing products and experiences, like iPad 3s, VIP trips to Vegas, backstage passes, signed jerseys, shoes, shirts, bags, and an entire smattering of swag.

Our Store is coming soon, where you can take your unused points and “spend” them on any product or experience you want.

Do work, get paid, and maybe someday you can quit your job to “play life” with us full-time.

What do levels mean, and how do I level up?

Just like in Mario, the more you play, the more points you earn, and the faster you move up to the next level. Eventually, you’ll have access to the swaggiest (is that a word?) of games and the most exclusive products and experiences in our store. The higher your level, the more access you’ll have. Who needs velvet ropes when you’ve got hashtag #swag?

Our lovable team member, Sasha, hailing from land-locked Belarus (just don’t call it Russia) is our in-house analytics guru.

Apparently they have a saying out there, “kill two hares with one boulder”. That seemed a little aggressive for us, but we like where their head’s at.

In honor of that, here’s a little secret strategy for gaining a triple combo point move:

Upload a picture to Instagram
Write a comment including hashtag #swag
Push it to Facebook and Twitter
Bask in the glory of points

You complete a challenge for posting to twitter. You complete a challenge for posting to facebook. You complete a challenge for every person who likes, comments, or shares your facebook post. And you get points for it all.

Now that’s #swag.

Introducing...The Facie

We have a new Challenge type that we think you’re going to love.

We call it a Facie. You can post any status update you want on Facebook, and plyfe will give you points for each of your friends who like, comment, or share it. For example, I could post “I like cookies” and I’ll get 10 points for every friend who likes it within the next 24 hours.

As you might imagine, this allows for a seemingly infinite amount of points for you. Well, if you manage to post something compelling that your friends respond to.

On a personal note, it was a weird yet exciting feeling updating my Facebook status knowing that I could possibly get a free trip to Vegas. At a minimum, I’ve been a tad more thoughtful about what I say on Facebook.

A few of the brands we’re working with are also pretty excited about it, but at the end of the day we want to make sure it’s something you love.

So, if you’re already a member of plyfe, you don’t even need to log in to get points. Just go to facebook right now, get witty wit it, and come back to plyfe in a few days to see how many points you got.

All for doing what you’re already doing online. Hopefully it’s starting to make sense now… :)
